Every morning when I’m getting ready for work, I have to make sure the cats don’t get locked in the bathroom. DC likes to sit on the window ledge behind the tub, and AC likes to come in and play with the water running in the sink. After the usual shooing away I finished up and did my cat check as usual. Look in the tub, behind the toilet, on the window ledge… all clear. Apparently as I was walking out AC ninja’d his ass inside and got locked in all day. Above is the aftermath.
I came home from work today to find my apartment looking like a battle between the Autobots and Decepticons had taken place in my apartment. Everyone room save for the bathroom (which always has the door closed as I’m sure you can imagine why) was in various states of demolition.
The site you see up there is the main focus of my kitchen. Another roll of paper towel bites the dust. The arrows are marking out the puke that it is scattered across the floor, more of which I found on the other side of the living room by the windows.
My copy of the 300 graphic novel which sits on my coffee table as a testament to my geekness was now on the floor, and the back cushions for my couch were both toppled over.
In my bedroom, my laundry bin was laying on it’s side and my bed was slid about 2’ to the left closer to the wall. What made AC go off like this I do not know.
I know DC had a small hand in it as AC has been terrorizing her since I got home. She has repeatedly run to me looking for asylum from her brother.
At one point I setup my camera to record AC’s usual yet atypical antics of running around, making his weird meowing sound which I can only best describe as a high pitched bird warble, and bouncing off the walls. Why don’t I post this video you ask? Because the bastard knows what I’m doing. As soon as I set the camera down to start recording, he layed down in front of it and just chilled out while staring at me until the memory card filled up and the battery was almost dead. What’s he doing now? Why he’s tearing around the apartment as usual thank you very much.
Every Sunday I do my laundry, and every Sunday I get to find out what AC’s most prized possessions are for the week. See, AC likes to take things he likes and presumably wants to keep safe and hides them in my laundry bin. I meant to post this yesterday but I ended up getting busy doing laundry. So here is what I found this week:
1 x Yellow fine point Sharpie marker
1 x Aqua fine point Sharpie marker
3 x Paintballs (I am still finding these things!)
2 x Mt. Dew Bottle Caps
1 x Catnip mouse
1 x random piece of plastic
I woke up this morning to find not one, but TWO rolls of paper towel shredded all over my living room. Mixed in was one pile of still warm cat puke. Had I been able to comprehend the complexities of getting my camera and taking a pic 5 minutes after waking up I would have. I instead muttered “You sonuvabitch” and proceeded to clean up the mess.
I need to start locking my computer when I leave, I think AC has found this site. This feels like payback for the Kanye pic.
Came home to 3 piles of puke on the floor. Thanks AC. And yes, I know it was AC because he does this often. I change up their food trying to find something that will be easier on his stomach but I think I’m just finally coming to grips with the fact that he does it in protest for the fact that he no longer gets canned food. It’s been 2 years since I stopped buying canned food because AC is such a picky eater I’d bought out all the types he would eat in my area. Sure it’s probably restocked by now but I’m not going through that again.
So I just got home a little while ago, and AC is bouncing off the walls. Now granted, he does literally bounce off the walls on his own (I’m gonna get this on video soon, probably tonight,) he was doing it worse than usual. He’s also walking around being very whiny, which he also does normally, but this is more than usual.
I found out why, look up there. (Yes, I did edit the image slightly, things that you don’t need to see :P)
That my friends, is an empty bag of catnip… that was in a drawer.
A couple days ago, AC was rummaging around on this set of shelves I have in my kitchen that I keep assorted items on. Bread, cereal, tools, paper towels, etc. It’s never a good thing when he’s up there because he’s usually going for the paper towels which are on the top shelf. He was on a lower shelf which piqued my curiosity. There I found this bag of catnip. I think it came with the last scratching box that I got for the little monsters and just tossed it there as you can probably already tell… the little bastard doesn’t need catnip to get nuts. So I tossed it in that drawer you see there to keep him away as the usual shooing away wasn’t working… as usual. Time to update the score….
In the 2 1/2 years I have had my cats, I’ve had to lock them out of my bedroom when I sleep at night. This is because AC thinks I’m some sort of playground when I’m sleeping and does a flying elbow drop on me from the top of my wardrobe.
Recently I have been doing a trial run to see if AC can behave himself while I sleep and leave my bedroom door open. Here are some of the things that have happened during these trials:
- AC attacks anything under the blanket that moves, so if I shuffle my feet, he’s right on top of them.
- AC has jumped from the top of the wardrobe onto me several times, usually after having fallen asleep.
- At one point, I thought he was having a fit under my bed. Come to find out that AC had gotten into a small supply of paintballs I had left over from my previous paintball trip. I was finding paintballs stashed in small groups around my apartment for weeks afterwards.
- I woke up to a loud crash one night as he knocked a spindle of discs off the top of my wardrobe.
- AC will terrorize DC (Defensive Cat, his sister) and will chase her around the apartment, including having epic battles on top of me which wake me up.
A video I made awhile back of AC playing with a laser. While this may look like it’s all in good fun, this was at about 2am and he’s been literally bouncing off the walls for about 2 hours at this point. I was hoping to wear him out so I could get some sleep. There used to be music to this but Youtube said no. If you want the full effect, cue up Circles by Soul Coughing.
